science park limburg
The Science Park plc. was founded in 1989, under the initiative of University Hasselt, the Board of the Provincial Government and the Regional Development Society Limburg.
In general, we wish to develop and stimulate the interaction between the several research environments on the University Campus and high technology businesses in the region, in order to develop synergies and spin-offs in the long run.
The objective of the Science Park is double:

R&D cooperation
Stimulating the cooperation – on the level of R&D- between the Small and Middle sized-enterprises and the UHasselt.
Formulas of Establishment
The Science Park offers several formulas for hiring or buying offices/labs or land:
- the Incubator: 10 labs and 8 offices for hire, for starters.
- the Passage Building: a complete building for hire, for larger enterprises.

For each of the above alternatives a certain procedure must be followed.
